Fornite is the hit anime series, collaborating with Kaiju No. 8 adds a bundle of cosmetic items based on Kaiju No. 8 to the Fortnite item shop, and they are available until February 1, 2025.
Popular films and games, anime and cartoon series are becoming an increasingly significant part of Fortnite’s crossover line-up. Fortnite has solidified its position as a leading hub for pop culture crossovers. The vast range of collaborations it offers has even brought previously joked-about Fortnite crossovers to life. Players can find skins inspired by characters from Dragon Ball, Avatar, Family Guy and more available in the game’s item store.
The latest anime series to join Fortnite’s roster is Kaiju No. 8. This new crossover introduces a special Kaiju No. 8 bundle, which includes several playable skins based on characters from the series, along with themed pickaxes, back bling, emotes, and wraps. Based on manga by Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, Kaiju No. 8 follows Japan’s Anti-Kaiju Defence Force, an elite team of super soldiers dedicated to eliminating massive monsters threatening the nation. Kaiju No. 8 protagonist, Kafka Hibino, is an ordinary man who gains the ability to transform into a powerful humanoid Kaiju. He uses this newfound strength to join the Defence Force, pursuing his lifelong dream.

As detailed in the trailer, the crossover features skins based on Kaiju No. 8 Third Division members Kafka Hibino, Reno Ichikawa, and Kikoru Shinomiya. These skins feature the characters in their standard Japan Anti-Kaiju Defence Force combat suits. Constructed from Kaiju materials, these suits provide ordinary humans with the strength needed to battle the massive monsters. As the series progresses, each character upgrades to more personalised and advanced suits.

The bundle also includes a variety of back bling and pickaxe items. Kafka’s back bling features a broken Kaiju No. 8 mask, while Kikoru and Reno’s back bling are based on their gear bags. Reno’s gear bag stands out with glowing green vials of ice-element ammunition for his weapon. Among the pickaxes, one is based on Kikoru’s massive battleaxe, while the other two draw inspiration from Kafka’s Kaiju form and Reno’s ice-based abilities. The bundle also includes an emote that showcases the spirit of Kaiju No. 8 hovering over the character and a weapon wrap styled with Kaiju No. 8’s skin pattern.
The launch of the Fortnite Kaiju No. 8 bundle was met with a largely positive reception online, thanks in part to the show’s immense popularity. Many fans noted the timing of the bundle’s release, arriving just ahead of the debut of Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 in July 2025. However, some fans did expressed disappointment that other fan-favourite characters, such as Mina Ashiro and Gen Narumi, were not included. Nonetheless, there is optimism among fans that a future bundle might introduce these characters.
